a Napoleon complex, of sorts

I’m not a big burger kinda gal, but when i want one, i want a REAL one. I’m talking big thick all beef patty cooked medium rare with all kinds of fixings between some amazing bread. Enter, The Standing Room.  I’m sort of breaking my own rules by sharing this with you, but some secrets are simply too good to keep. Besides, just look at the picture, this spot is just so necessary!

Today’s Edible Adventure with the FatGirlAtHeart & SkinnyFatKid started with the usual question, “What are you in the mood for?” and was very quickly followed with, “Have you ever been to The Standing Room?” Needless to say, we were there 15 minutes later.

If you’ve never been, it’s an unspoken must that you begin your experience with The Napoleon: a 1/2lb burger patty topped with beacon, caramelized onion, smoked gouda, cheddar, & american cheese, a fried egg, spring mix greens, topped with braised short rib, truffle parmesan fries, tomato jam, & korean aioli.

One of my other favorites however, is The Bull: a 1/2lb patty topped with spring mix greens, korean marinated beef, kimchee, shishito peppers, caramelized onions, cheddar & american cheese, & kimchee dip.

And no matter what you decide to get, do yourself a favor and get an ordered of the truffle parmesan fries. Perfectly fried and smothered in truffle oil, parmesan, and furikake, these fries are not for the weak. You’ve been warned.
