I had the pleasure of meeting KC a few years back & although we’ve hardly hung out since, I’ve been an avid follower of his insane Instagram adventures. If there were ever a guy living life on the edge of every adventure it’s KC Deane. From snow to surf to every mountain path in between, KC is practically impossible to nail down but endlessly inspirational & driven for all those fellow adventurers at heart.

When did you first discover your love for skiing & mountain biking? 

 I think it came early on. My first memories were on the ski hill, and racing my brother around on bikes as a kid. Then for me I really wanted to travel and see all these places I saw in ski films. So the only way I saw to do it, was become a professional to travel and ski all these crazy locations so that was the main drive for me to become pro. 

What have been some highlights in your career/ proudest moments? 

 I think winning Swatch Skiers Cup multiple years, putting together a segment for Poor Boyz last movie”Twenty”. For biking doing Nine Knights and my trip to film in China this spring for Fast Fokus’s show MTB Heroes  

You’re quite the adventure sports enthusiast. What keeps your drive alive?

 Traveling, seeing new places, and pushing myself in each sport I do.

Your Instagram reads like a how to live life to the fullest manual. What are some of your favorite places to adventure?

That is hard to say, but Japan is one that is the top of the list, Europe, and also British Columbia.  

What does the future hold for KC Deane?

Ha, good question. Lot’s of traveling, surfing this fall, more mountain biking and skiing.

What is your biggest dream?

Hm, live life as a professional athlete and travel the world…  

Who are your idols?

Taya! :-). I have quite a few. My dad for putting up with me for so long ha. JP Auclair.

How do you cope with failure?

I think it depends on what I fail in. I typically just take it in stride and look at it as a learning experience, and try and use the failure as a way to make myself better, so that the next time I’m presented with the situation I succeed.
