Best Week Ever

Adventures, Inspiration, Wanderlust Jul 27, 2015

Is anyone else wondering where half the year has gone?  I swear we were just celebrating Easter and Valentine’s day and now we’re pratically to Halloween.  I don’t know about all of you but this year has been a crazy ride…  I’ve been keeping beautifully busy with travel and work and friends and life, beautiful beautiful life.

This week I was blessed to spend some time in Singapore again with a few amazing female fashion bloggers and the Asian Couture Federation learning all about their exciting new plans for the future of fashion- ladies you should be very excited, heck you guys should be excited too; what guy doesn’t like seeing his lady dressed up all nice?  Be on the lookout for COUTURiSSIMO 😉

Speaking of Singapore, my latest cover shoot is out now for DON’T Magazine.  The August issue is all about Singapore- where to go, what to do, where to eat, what you simply cannot miss… plus a few shots of yours truly frolicking around in some really nice fall pieces from Gucci, Prada, MuiMui, Jimmy Choo, and more.

Even more exciting than that however is probably the release of Wes Anderson’s game, “Maquisard,” based off of his movie, “The Grand Budapest Hotel”… there goes my social life.

As if I needed another antisocial habit right up there with reading all these books!  I’m still working my way through Grimm’s Fairy Tales which by the way Disney has done an amazing job editing because his stories are not as fun, beautifulm and exciting as their animated counterparts.  I’m also reading A Year of Miracles daily plus I just started Lost Girls: An Unsolved American Mystery by Robert Kolker.

In the world of cinema, if you havent been to see Southpaw yet, go go go.  Jake Gyllenhaal got super ripped working out for 3 hours twice a day for  5 months with no rest days.  I wonder if 2,000 sit ups a day will have the same effect on me…. Funny story, Eminem was suppose to play the lead role- instead he stuck to his music and slayed the soundtrack, letting Jake do his thing.  I do sort of wish that 50 Cent had made the same decision.

Plus if you’ve got any interest whatsoever in fashion plus make an effort to see IRIS. Iris Apfel is a legend, Albert Maysles is a legend, and there’s honestly not much else I should have to say to sell you on it. Go on, it’s wonderful.

Also in theaters soon is The Diary of a Teenage Girl.  Based on a graphic novel and beautifully transformed for the silver screen by Marielle Heller, with an amazing cast to back it all up (Kristen Wiig, Alexander Skarsgard, Christopher Meloni, and an incredible Bel Powley) you’ll be watching a poignant coming of age story honestly exploring a teenage girls sexuality and her journey of self discovery in the 70s.

I don’t think this song made the soundtrack but it may need to be added as a bonus track since Miss Macy Gray has so cheekily written a love song to B.O.B.- no not the rapper, but rather her Battery Operated Boyfriend…

Google just upped their game by using crowdsourced data from Google Maps to help show you when your favorite restaurants are already packed and not worth driving to just to end up on a waitlist.  Technology dude.  It’s the future.
