I am so very lucky to be surrounded by strong, intelligent, capable women who lead by example.  A terrific example is the amazing women in my International Bad Bitches Book Club.  One of the first books we selected to read was “Lean In” by Sheryl Sandberg.  If you’re not familiar with the name you better get familiar.  Sheryl Sandberg is Chief Operating Officer at Facebook, formerly a VP at Google, a wife & mother of two & #9 on Forbes’ list of Power Women.  In 2012 she made the Times Magazine list of 100 Most Influential People.  And there is no way you can read her best-selling novel “Lean In” without her influencing you.  Although the book is written primarily for a female audience, I actually think there’s more than enough gender mutual wisdom in it for any reader.   Plus I know a few men who would benefit greatly from gaining a little perspective about what it’s like being a woman in the workplace.  Sheryl Sandberg talks about everything from leadership to leaning in & what it really means to “do it all.”  She’s not only the perfect role model for any growing woman (& we are hopefully all, always growing), but a wonderful role model HUMAN.
