Cafe Tartine

In our new world of crazy gastronomy and molecular dining and crazy concoctions… do you ever just want something simple to eat? Enter Cafe Tartine.  Although we got lost trying to find Cafe Tartine from the Wireless Rd side of the building, I swear it only built up our appetite making us more than ready to devour half the menu.  Thankfully the menu is beautifully simple with tons of french cafe type options from quiche to baguette sandwiches to salads and tartines of course.  After the usual debate of “Do I want breakfast food or lunch food?” we settled on splitting two sandwiches and dessert (obviously, I was with my fellow FatGirlAtHeart Miss Sarah Ball).  DSC09973 The BAB: Bacon, Avocado, & Brie on a french baguette- perfectly creamy and salty and crunchy.DSC09974

The prosciutto raclette with prosciutto ham, melted cheese, potato, and cornichons (have I ever mentioned how much i love cornichons?! and paired with the prosciutto which is also another love of mine and melted cheese and crunchy baguette?! AMAZING. And so simple!) DSC09978 Beautiful lemon meringue pieDSC09982 I love the open sandwich bar/ kitchen- I think I love watching food get made just as much as I love eating it when it’s done.  It’s part of why I enjoy cooking so much (: So being able to watch your food being freshly prepared for you just adds that much more excitement to the whole dining process.

The restaurant was pretty busy when we were there, but I think we caught the lunch crowd because by the time we were done the place had emptied out pretty well making it ideal to get work done with a cup of coffee and their free wifi…. and a cookie.

So, if you’re looking for a place to grab a nice simple meal with some friends or your laptop, check out Cafe Tartine between 7am- 8pm (: oh, and they have free parking- a blessing in Bangkok.
