Julien Fournié

Style Dec 21, 2013

Julien Fournié may be one of the sexiest names I’ve ever uttered.  Seriously.  Ask anyone at Fidé Fashion Week.  For the past two years I’ve wandered around Fashion Week for over a week straight saying Julien Fournié in the sultriest voice I can muster.  I made my own knees weak.  And it’s really no credit to me or my (lack of a) sexy bedroom voice- the name really just works for itself.  And so does the man behind it.

At the young age of 20, after studying medicine for two years, Julien ditched hospital gowns for real clothes continuing his studies at the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale Couture Parisienne, where he graduated in 2000. On his graduation day, Paris Fashion 2000 awarded him the Moet & Chandon Prize for best accessories.  Since then Julien has learned tricks of the trade from a wide range of fashion houses- the House of Nina Ricci, Christian Dior, Givenchy… he was just starting at Céline when Jean-Paul fricken Gaultier hired him as an assistant stylist in Haute Couture where he not only helped develop the 2001/2002 line, but he also got to help design costumes for Madonna’s world tour.

Let’s fast forward about a decade past so many more accomplishments I can’t possibly fit them all in here…. TODAY, Julien Fournié is CEO of his own eponymous couture company founded in the summer of 2009 and continues to astonish his audience worldwide with his incredibly sexy designs and let me tell you…. Julien Fournié is a man who knows how to make a woman sexy.

Check out his amazing show from this past FIDé Fashion Week:

The rich tones, the mixed textures, the gold! I think my eyes just about rolled out of their sockets I was swooning so hard.  And this is understated sexy- this is sexy without losing a touch of class or elegance; sexy without having to show half your skin.  I mean really ladies, what more could you ask for (except champagne and chocolate really, I mean we all need more of that).

So this year, I don’t know about you but I’m asking Santa for a Julien Fournié gown.
